Hope, Healing, and Second Chances Are Possible

THANKS TO YOU

Charlene Campbell, CFA Animal Welfare – CFA Breed Assist & Breed Rescue Program VP

This season of giving, I find myself thinking of all the CFA pedigreed felines whose lives you’ve helped change this year!

Because of your support this year, hundreds of pedigree cats confidentially found safety, care and love when they needed it most.  Hungry cats were fed.  Injured cats were healed.  Frightened hearts learned to trust again.  Every feline paw that crossed into our BAP program carried a story and your kindness became a part of each one.

2025 has been a year of new beginnings at CFA Breed Assist & Breed Rescue.  With your help, we’re not only saving lives today, giving out feline health information, especially FIP resources. We’re building a future where every CFA pedigreed feline in need has access to the care and food they deserve.  We work hard to provide affordable high-quality veterinary care through our rescue partners for every feline in our program.

Mission
The CFA Breed Assistance Program helps cats and catteries in times of need beyond their control. This assistance is provided in confidence and with compassion to the individuals involved, with the well-being of cats foremost.
BAP-BRP is a stand-alone 501(c)(3) charity – separate from CFA – solely dependent on donations.

The Breed Assistance Program assists CFA catteries when owners find themselves overwhelmed.  The program is a place for CFA breeders to seek help in situations out of their control. Assistance may include advice, physical help, placement or foster care.
Confidential is the key word to all interactions with you or with someone you know who seeks advice or help. You can contact the chairperson or your regional coordinator, whichever gives you the comfort level you seek.

Reasons for requesting help may include:

  • Temporary loss of home, acts of nature
  • Personal family situations – divorce, loss of job, disability
  • Contact by animal control
  • Number of cats beyond care capacity
  • Death without provision for the animals

If you or another breeder needs help with their cats, don’t hesitate to reach out to the confidential Breed Assist Program.

FIP Concerns: BAP/BRP has had very successful experience treating many cats/kittens with FIP.  Immediate treatment is essential. Contact Tamara at 847-910-3116,  tamara.bap@outlook.com  She can guide you to important information regarding treatment and medication.  There are rescues and fosters experienced in treating FIP. Essential information can be found at FIP GLOBAL CATS at www.fipglobalcats.com/

Will you support our program on the “Giving Tuesday”?  We appreciate you!
